Yeah, been too busy playing around with the new website at work, and haven't posted for a bit...

Good riding this weekend...probably too hard...Thanks to Jason and Blake I now feel spent...tired and worn out.  Nice drizzly road ride on Saturday followed by a three-hour brisk off-road tour on Sunday...

And hey, look, a new President is on his way...thank goodness he won...I was checking the maps all week long trying to figure out if I was gonna expatriate to Canada or Mexico if McCan't would have won...so, shweeewey...there's a load off...I get to stay in the Van down by the river for at least four more years...would have been sweet to see Nader pull out a big showiing...but that Palin thing...she scared a lot of Progressives away from the independent candidates this year...I know she scared me...

'course, now all that is left is for "We, the folks" to keep the new guy honest and progressive...so I hope he talks to Robert Reich about a gig as the Treasury Guru...would be a damned good pick...I have assigned sections of Reich's blog for my classes to read at times...guy's got a good head for the economic world and a good sense of what is socially important and what needs to be done to keep democracy in the hands of every single one of us folks...and a good heart for keeping us all human...

I got lots more to write about all this...nice thing about an economic mess and presidential race all at the same time is that it has actually been a part of J-O-B to keep up on things and learn as much as I can in order to provide relavance for my students by discussing all the current stuff alongside the earlier American cultural formations and transformations that are at the heart of my syllabi....so it has been a blast of a semester...lots of fun...but lots of reading...but I will jot some of it all down over the next few weeks and post.
